API Support » Trouble Running bitbucket examples Nov 10, 2021 @ 07:08 AM (Total replies: 4)

I got it working. The problem is if you let nuget update all the packages it thinks needs updating.

Downloaded straight from bitbucket it is:
id="GFAPI" version="4.0.3.5" targetFramework="net462"
id="Microsoft.CSharp" version="4.5.0" targetFramework="net462"
id="System.Reflection.Emit" version="4.3.0" targetFramework="net462"

After updating ONLY GFAPI you get this - which works:
id="GFAPI" version="4.0.3.44" targetFramework="net462"
id="Microsoft.CSharp" version="4.5.0" targetFramework="net462"
id="SimpleInjector" version="4.7.1" targetFramework="net462"
id="System.Reflection.Emit" version="4.3.0" targetFramework="net462"

Updating to the latest versions of CSharp(4.7), Simple Injector(5.3.2) and Emit(4.7) breaks the code.

I already did - that is when the code started throwing exceptions.

API Support » Trouble Running bitbucket examples Nov 08, 2021 @ 01:33 PM (Total replies: 4)

I have downloaded the basicexample and advancedexample code from bitbucket and I can not seem to get them to work.

I am using Visual Studio 2019

Running the code as is causes a popup saying "ConnectioError."

If I use Nuget to update the packages, it throws an exception.
Application.Run(new MainForm(runner.WithClient(GFApi.CreateClient())));
System.TypeLoadException: 'Method 'TryGetConstructor' in type 'GF.SimpleInjector.InternalConstructorResolutionBehavior' from assembly 'GF.SimpleInjector, Version=4.0.3.13, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b6b45f27e2749b17' does not have an implementation.'

Am I doing something wrong?
Are these examples supposed to work?

Market Data » Option Chain noy returning strikes above ATM Jul 02, 2018 @ 11:39 AM (Total replies: 6)

I am still unable to get a complete list of options.
If I limit my request to just the OESU8 options I get the following list.
As you can see, there is a huge area where no Puts are returned.
When I run the example code you provided, there are strike gaps for every expiration.
Is there anyway to get a complete list of available options for a contract?

Market Data » Option Chain noy returning strikes above ATM Jun 29, 2018 @ 01:52 PM (Total replies: 6)

I tried the pagination like in the example.
It did work better, but it leaves huge gaps in the strike prices.

Below is just the output segment for symbols starting OESU8.
Other expirations have the same problem.
You can see there is a gap from 2025 to 3005 - right where the ATM strikes are.
Am I doing something wrong?

Request Code:
void GainBridgeImpl::RequestOptionList(OEC::API::Contract^ contract)
{
OEC::API::SymbolLookupCriteria^ criteria = gcnew OEC::API::SymbolLookupCriteria;
criteria->ParentContract = contract;
criteria->SearchText = "*";
criteria->ContractKinds->Add(OEC::Data::ContractKind::Option);
criteria->MinStrikePrice = 1;
criteria->MaxStrikePrice = 500;
OEC::API::OECClient::Global->SymbolLookup(criteria);
}

Symbol Looup Event:
void GainBridgeImpl::SymbolLookup(OEC::API::SymbolLookupCriteria^ criteria, OEC::API::ContractList^ contracts)
{
if (criteria->ParentContract != nullptr)
{
if (criteria->MinStrikePrice ParentContract->CurrentPrice->LastPrice * 2))
{
criteria->MinStrikePrice += 500;
criteria->MaxStrikePrice += 500;
OEC::API::OECClient::Global->SymbolLookup(criteria);
}
else
{
OptionListReceived(criteria->ParentContract);
}
}

Market Data » Option Chain noy returning strikes above ATM Jun 29, 2018 @ 09:38 AM (Total replies: 6)

I removed the strike prices and DesiredResultCount.
Now I get the same 163 options every time I make the request.
Can you give me a concrete example of how to paginate the request? Sending the same criteria gets me the same results.

Market Data » Option Chain noy returning strikes above ATM Jun 29, 2018 @ 08:25 AM (Total replies: 6)

When I try to get an option chain, I don;t seem to get strikes with a price higher than the current ATM.
For ESU8, for example, I get strikes 2305 - 2700 (as of 6/29/2018)
I have tried setting the min and max strike price, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Any idea of what I need to do?
C++ code below:

OEC::API::SymbolLookupCriteria^ criteria = gcnew OEC::API::SymbolLookupCriteria;
criteria->ParentContract = contract;
criteria->SearchText = "*";
criteria->ContractKinds->Add(OEC::Data::ContractKind::Option);
criteria->MinStrikePrice = 0;
criteria->MaxStrikePrice = 1000000000;
criteria->DesiredResultCount = 99999;
OEC::API::OECClient::Global->SymbolLookup(criteria);

This is the installer for OEC TraderD Developer 3.5.15.251.
It installs two zip files under C:\Program Files (x86)\OEC\Samples
This is the advanced example I was trying to get to work.

Thanks for your reply.
It seems to have all boiled down to me downloading the example from a different link. It must have been out of date.
OECClient didn't even have a UUID member in the version I have.
I got the latest from bitbucket.org and it worked right off the bat.

API Support » Getting Example Code to Work Feb 09, 2017 @ 10:05 AM (Total replies: 6)

I am trying to run the OECAPI BasicExample and Advanced Example and they do not work.
I am using VS2010 to compile.
The username and password works with the OEC Trade Developer 3.5 application.

In both cases they fail to connect.

Do I need to do something to get them to work?
