This gets better! "Your account will expire today". So in one month with OEC. I have spend so mutch time debugging and tweaking I haven´t get anything to work. DDE stops working when the OEC trader reconnects. The only possible way to reconnect is to kill OEC Trader and Excel and then restart all application. This is so DUMB! Then I had to move on so my next step was to test the API COM, so I choose the easy way with Excel and VBA. How hard could it be???? Well today with all kind of installation (because I couldn´t even get a reply of witch installation I should select), I haven´t been able to get a tiny simple connection. I get all type off error messages. Because there is no documentation on the OEC COM API, I don´t know were to start and the forum admin is not able to help me. Öhhh download this.... And then he is quiet for a week... I do not want to do miracles, I came here to get a simple quotefeed and a way for trading my algorithm I already developed. I Uninstalled OEC COM both 64-bit and 32-bit. Re-installed 64-bit and now I get the Acive-X error even in the 64-bit installation. I get NO support from you. I give up! NA |

The last comment is about the 32 Bit version. Downloaded: "API COM Interface" (Msg. 7 of 11) The comment before that is 64 bit. Downloaded "API COM Interface Excel and C++ samples (64bit)" (Msg. 6 of 11) My operating system is win 7, 64 bit, and 32 bit office/excel NA Edited by NAkesson on Sep 9, 2011 at 13:22:22 Edited by NAkesson on Sep 9, 2011 at 13:23:51 Edited by NAkesson on Sep 9, 2011 at 13:24:16 |

Now I tried everything and NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!!!! Could you please respond to how I should proceed, I´m in a deadlock situation and how about a troubleshooting "Readme.txt" file to save my time and yours.................... NA |

I downloaded the excel template from: "API COM Interface Excel and C++ samples (64bit)" Is this for 64 bit office or 64 bit windows??? I changed to 32 bit office because you couldn´t support 64 bit... But I use WIN 7 64 Bit as plattform... My luck with your software continues: http://i51.tinypic.com/2r7adqh.jpg "SAKNAS" is the same as "Missing" in Swedish... I can see that OACAPICOM.dll is in my "Program" directory (for 64 bit programs). THIS IS SOLVED! I removed the "old" reference and choosed the new, in the list... NEW PROBLEM: Errormessage "Userdefined type is not defined": http://i55.tinypic.com/2yo1lwm.jpg Suggestions? Could you please remove the Subscription bug for DDE? If I have over 25 quotes in my list and doing a DDE Initiate/Request/Delete (the only way to get the links to be re-updated and live if OEC Trader reconnects), then I get subscription error. Ok... Because I only need 12, so I decrese to 12 quotes and this works fine. But I want to have 3 quotes with DOM and If I decrease to 2 it will work. I know it´s 50 quotes and 5 DOM. But when I reconnect the software thinks it is double??? So could you allow 6 DOM or fix the problem. Or invent some way to get the excelsheet updating the link when OEC Trader reconnect or restart... NA |

You wrote: "Login Failed: InvalidClientVersion" can happen for applications that are trying to connect with OECAPI 3.4. We discontinued it. But I use the OEC Trader Developer 3.5, and the "Excel template" from the installation directory (OEC COM). There has to be a template that work with the current version. I think there would be no end of work and debugging, if I can not establish a connection with OEC example and there are no documentation regarding OEC COM... Do you have a Excel template for "OEC Trader Devoloper 3.5" OEC COM? --------------- Regarding DDE. When I tried to reconnect the links and doing Initiate/request/terminate I get the error message that I have reached the limit of subscription (this worked with 64 bit office) and I have a forum topic regarding this issue. Some suggestions? -If I solve this I don´t need "OEC COM"... NA |

I had problems to get 64 bit Office 2010 working, but I it worked through DDE. I found out, after a few forum questions, that you dont support 64 bit, so I unistalled 64 bit and installd 32 bit office. After struggling and recoding the DDE function I got this to work, but OEC Trader restarts all the time. If OEC trader restarts then the DDE link stops to work and I won´t get any quotefeed (this worked in the 64 bit office). My workaround to the restart issue is a watchdog that close/open/login "OEC trader developer 3.5" and then restart excel, to get things running. Is there a way to get DDE working after OEC Trader has restarted or reconected, from Excel? The function says OK (boolean returns true) even when the link is not updated? The reason I will use OEC is to have an automated system running, so everything has to be "safe". Just now I don´t believe that DDE is a solid soloution. ------ To get some perspective and try somthing else I tried the "Sample COM Book.xls" (this was impossible with 64 bit). But I got some problems right away... In Excel I use the "Open E Cry API COM" as reference. After the password-dialog a few seconds pass, then this error message occurs (in Excel): "Login Failed: InvalidClientVersion" I won´t spend 20 hours debugging your template before I´m passed the connected phase, so what is wrong? Should I select "Allow Remoting" when I use "Sample COM Book.xls"? What can I do with "Allow Remoting" selected (the word "Remote" get me thinking of security and if this is a way for you to help customer problems and pass firewall)? Do I have to (manually) register and add some dll:s? Is there some way to not have the "OEC Trader Develoer 3.5" running and still use your services (quotefeed and trading)? Documentation for your API COM???? Edited by NAkesson on Aug 27, 2011 at 10:17:04 |

API Support » Non of the example you provided works Aug 17, 2011 @ 05:37 AM (Total replies: 1)
I try to get som ideas from the attached workbookexample. But non of the example is working ("Sample COM Book.xls" and "Sample Add-In Book.xls" for dde-linking. For "Sample COM Book.xls", I could not check the "OEC.functions" box, because when I tried to do the "automation" task I can't find "OEC.functions" in the list (I followed the DDE manual exactly). I could get the quoteinformation if I write the DDE-link manually (or automated) and doing a initiate/request/terminate through VBA. The "Sample COM Book.xls" is not working so I did some changes so it begin to run, but then I get a "Active-X" error message. Could this depend on that I have a Swedish version of WIN7 (64-bit) and office 2010. Sometimes this could be a problem when the "program files" directory is hardcoded. All OEC software is in my "Program(x86)" directory. I have no "program files" directory on my computer... NA |

Market Data » DDE update not working if the symbols is not in the OEC trader list Aug 16, 2011 @ 05:29 PM (Total replies: 1)
Hi, I´m a new user. When I check the internet and some forums I learned that the fastest way to get quotes is through DDE to Excel (or emulate Excel). So after some scripting and tests I found out that I just have to do a initiate, requets followed by a terminate, to get the manual links working and It updates fast. The manual links I generate through VBA to the spreadsheet with the correct symbol. But my problem is if the symbol is not in the quotelist (in the OEC trader program) even if they exist (contract exist), then I won´t get any quotes. I´ve already done a automatic symbol-script that are doing a rollover when it should be. But when I change date on my computer (for testing), a new future contract is requested by the link and it is not working (until I update my list on the program (OEC trader) for the contract). I saw that I could save a XML-list for all the setting and in the XML my symbollist was stored. Could close down the OEC trader and then automatic change the xml-file with the new symbol (rollover-time) and then start the OEC trader with the new settings? Or could I send a DDE command to OEC trader to change the symbollist with the new contract? Niclas Akesson |
