When I open a 6AZ5 1440 minute chart, the bars
- not only the current day bar, but all historical bars

have much different volumes than the bars
- current day bar and historical bars

of the 6AZ5 daily chart.

Any idea why this is? A customer asked.

Let me explain this using an example. Pretend it is currently 12pm (noon). I request the past n days of 1440 minute bars. The most recent bar I should get back is from yesterday at noon until today at noon, with all earlier bars running from noon to noon. Alternatively, I could request the past n days of day bars. In this case, my most recent bar should be shorter than the rest and run from midnight until noon. All earlier bars would be from midnight until midnight. Does this make sense?
