I've noticed that often times you will close out orders in order of "smallest profitable position" first, and that's great, but then, sometimes, for some reason, you stray away from that rule and start closing out most profitable positions first, is there a way to specify that we always want to close out/mach up most profitable orders or least profitable orders first?
what is the formula you are using and explain why do what you are doing? Edited by PArnoldson on Jul 31, 2008 at 01:50 PM |

If you are refering to how positions are offset in the software, this is based on FIFO (first-in-first-out).

The FIFO statement here seems to be in conflict with the statements in "Close by ticket #"* in suggestions where they talk about the cost averaging of positions. Our experience seems to match that description. I wanted to point future browsers to the other information to get the bigger picture.
