We've been getting complaints for weeks about various symbols having their charts (1 minute sub) stop updating at various times. We have worked through all of our code and found a couple of areas where we improved, but still the problem persists mostly with the currencies from CME like 6CZ9. Everything else will keep going and we wont have a lot of a disconnect event yet the chart stops updating.

This afternoon I decided to see if OEC Trader Demo was also affected or if it was just our problem. Interestingly enough both OEC Trader Demo and our software stopped getting 1 minute updates at the same time, 16:43 MDT. Opening a new instance of our software with a different login on a different computer retrieved up-to-date data but my stalled app and OEC Trader Demo continue to sit like bumps on a log for 6CZ9. Our app continues to get quotes for the symbol and all the other symbols I'm subscribed to are getting updates (the ones that aren't currently between sessions.)

This sounds similar to the "price is not updated" thread, but we've combed our code and logged what we can think to log and more importantly, it is reproducible in your software.

We restarted our software and OEC Trader Demo in the early morning and they both ran fine until 9:12 AM MDT when their 1 minute 6CZ9 charts stopped updating.

I restarted both apps again at 12:50 MDT yesterday and they stopped at 14:26. I was curious to see if they would start up again on their own if left long enough. They haven't by the next morning at 08:56 MDT.

I can provide additional data points if you wish. For now I will stop the tests.

There will be an upgrade of sim.openecry.com server after close today, and it might address the issue.

Could you please retest on the next Monday?

Took optional OEC Trader Demo update this morning. Opened 6CZ9 on it and our software. Both stopped at 09:38 MDT. Switched OEC Trader Demo to 5 min chart and back to start it up again. Had data to current (10:24 MDT) and kept building. Closed/open charts in our software to do the same.

could you please confirm what login you used for the trader demo and for your software this morning?

Both ran fine from the previously mentioned start until 12:01 MDT when they stopped updating again.

Both paused again at 14:15 MDT. I left it through the daily market close and open to see if they would pick up again, but by 16:10 they have not. Switching/reopening charts gave data through 14:59 and then again starting at 16:00. I will leave them running overnight.

This morning OEC Trader Demo had three startup splash screen dialogs to dismiss (I have left the box checked) but it and our software was stalled at 03:01 MDT this morning anyway.

we found an issue that can be related to the problem you describe, and the fix will be installed after today close.

I started both software apps up a few minutes ago. It's not a busy time for 6CZ9 but TNT LIVE has been getting quote and 1 minute updates. I didn't get a software update for OEC Trader Demo but it acted a little different.

When I opened the new chart it showed "Disconnected Please Wait" (or was it reconnecting? I'm not sure, it was not there long.) Then it gave the Quick Start dialog. (2nd time this run.) I clicked OK and my chart was blank and wouldn't pull up any data no matter what the time frame. I didn't notice TNT LIVE go to disconnected/reconnecting.

I exited and started OEC Trader Demo again. Again it showed the "Disconnected/Reconnecting message overlayed on the chart as soon as I opened the new 6CZ9 chart, but the chart was still there after it went away. Again the quick dialog appeared (2 total this run.) I had a 5 min chart still and was able to switch to a 1 min chart. It is as up-to-date as the TNT LIVE which has been building off of the currently spotty 6CZ9 data. Both are still building. I'll leave them for the night.

They went the whole night and are still updating! :)

Almost 24 hours of chart updating goodness in OEC Trader Demo and our app. At market closed both stopped updating as expected. Then at around 15:30 MDT both went to reconnecting and then connected. OEC Trader Demo's chart went blank. I change time frames ("period") and it does a little spinny animation but no chart. I wont know for 30 minutes if TNT LIVE starts updating automatically or not.

Ah, there a couple minutes after switching time frames the chart is appearing again.

the time frame between 5:30 and 6:00 PM eastern is our maintenance time. You might expect that some services or even connection will not be available during that time.

I was not complaining about the disconnect. I was reporting it happened and that it appeared to reconnect properly with times included so you could reference the time you did a server restart or whatever.

I was also documenting the same "chart disappeared" issue as I experienced other times after OEC Trader Demo reconnects since Friday's update. I think they are unexpected unless those other times were known maintenance times.

The 6CZ9 1 minute charts started updating at 16:00 MDT in both programs so the resubscription after the reconnect event seems to have worked. Hopefully we have another 24 hours of updates.

Another 24 hours of the chart building in OEC Trader Demo and our app.

The chart reset again in OEC Trader Demo during the reset around 15:39 MDT. I left it until 17:59 to see if it would automatically bring it back, but it didn't. I don't know if that's normal or expected. I don't use it during this time very much. Switching to a 5 min time frame and back just now instantly brought the chart back.

Track 'n Trade LIVE is still building the 6CZ9 1 min chart.

Another 16 hours of updates and then the OEC Trader stopped at 09:31 MDT. TNT LIVE stopped at 09:34. (Both still on 6CZ9.) I did not notice a reconnect event.

I left them and they did not recover by 11:22 MDT. I restarted our software and switched time frames in OEC Trader Demo to get it updating again.

We had a customer call and report that all of their charts stopped updating at around 12:00 EDT, so about the same time from a totally different network/location in the US. He said it did not say disconnected or anything.


As a side note, when OEC Trader Demo blanked out due to the reconnect at 15:34, it brought the chart back by itself at 16:10 MDT.
